Unreservedly no lack of anything

I sent the message below to a young lady, who is on the cusp of a career change.

“I hope your day is productive on all fronts, look out for new ideas and clear paths. The Lord is at work in your life. He leads us to green pastures and besides still waters. She replied. “This is very encouraging and much needed, thank you”. And she asked, “does He lead to peaceful places, I am confused?”

My response: As sheep, we tend to go astray as sheep do, the emphasis is a need for a shepherd. Likewise we humans have the ability to wander away deep into our imagination, intellect and desires. Isaiah 53:6 (NASB)  All of us, like sheep, have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the wrongdoing of us allto fall on Him

Whereas sheep in the fold stay close to the shepherd, we must elect to stay close to ‘The Shepherd – Jesus’  John 10:11 (NIV) I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Psalm 23:2(NASB) He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. Following this line of thought, when we engage Christ in the small and big decisions we make in life, He will lead us beside the still waters and green pastures. His best picks are where His protection resides and wholesome growth happens. Psalm 23:1. (HCSB)  The LORD is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack.

God promises us nothing less, than His power and His assuring presence.
